Located in suburban Washington, DC, the Jefferson Institute for Justice Studies has extensive experience in the areas of criminal justice research and analysis; program development, management and evaluation; and the application of information systems to management and operational practices and procedures.
Within the United States, the major focus of the our work is on the local level, specifically on local and regional criminal justice endeavors involving city and county officials. The Jefferson Institute for Justice Studies has a strong track record in proposal development, grant administration, qualitative and quantitative research, program evaluation and publications. We are a non-profit (501c3) organization with funding from the Department of Justice's National Institute of Justice and Bureau of Justice Assistance. This is supplemented by contracts with state and local government agencies.
